As explained here, SYMMETRY utilizes a device management system to ensure a smooth experience for our clients, maintain software compatibility, and ensure the device is being used in line with our contracts. All laptops shipped as of July 2024 or later are already enrolled in management, though facility staff can elect to enroll their existing laptops as well. There are several methods to identify a SYMMETRY-managed laptop.
Method One: Login Screen
Devices that are enrolled in the management system will show the facility name on the login screen where the password is entered. Non-managed devices will show a generic "SYMMETRY" name.
Method Two: Software Center
Once logged in, open the Start menu and search for an app called Software Center. Managed laptops will have this app installed and available, non-managed devices will not have this app.
Method Three: Wi-Fi Connection
Hover your mouse over the Wi-Fi icon. Managed devices will show ad.symmetryneuropt.com, Internet access.
