Retrieve a Mapping Restriction Password

Lookup the Computer
- Log into the SYMMETRY Asset Management (Inventory) System
- Expand the left sidebar if it isn't, then click People
- Enter the client's last name in the search box
- Click the client's name
- Click the Assets tab
- Note the Asset Name on the line that says Laptop. It should be the only thing in the list with a name
Retrieve the Password
- On your computer, click Start, then search for Active Directory Users and Computers. Searching for Users is usually enough to bring it up
- Click Yes on the UAC prompt
- In the left sidebar, click the arrows next to ad.symmetryneuropt.com, SYMMETRY, and Home
- Click Computers
- Double click the computer name found in Step 6 of the previous section
- Click the tab that says LAPS
- Click Show password to view the current restriction password, or Copy password to copy it to paste elsewhere
- If the date under Current LAPS password expiration is in the past, notify IT as the laptop may have lost communication with the management system
